World Credit Union Conference: Interpreting and Equipment
We provided 14 simultaneous interpreters and the full interpretation equipment for 2,400 attendees in 6 languages at WOCCU's 2024 World Credit Union Conference in Boston.
The World Credit Union Conference, hosted by the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), brings together credit union leaders, regulators, and partners from around the world to share what is working for credit union members everywhere. For the 2024 conference in Boston, WOCCU engaged Translation Excellence directly to make every session accessible to its international audience.
The Challenge
With 2,400 attendees from credit union systems around the world, the conference had to work in 6 languages at once. Every delegate needed to follow keynotes and sessions in real time, in their own language, with the financial and cooperative terminology exactly right, and with one partner accountable for both the interpreters and the technology carrying their voices.
The Solution
Translation Excellence delivered both halves of the job under one contract: the interpreters and the simultaneous interpretation equipment.
- 14 simultaneous interpreters working in booth teams across 6 languages, briefed on the program and credit union terminology before the conference.
- The full interpretation system, from interpreter booths to the transmission equipment and listener receivers, set up and run by our own technicians.
- A single project team coordinating directly with WOCCU, so interpreters, equipment, and schedule changes were handled in one place.
